It is a loop trail that winds through the hills of the Rilate Valley, which is strongly marked by the presence of woods thanks to the Valleandona, Vallebotto and Valgrande Nature Reserve. In this natural context the human presence has deeply characterized the places, which in the Middle Ages were historically tied to the bishopric and the municipality of Asti in conflict with the Marquisate of Monferrato, with ridge villages and castle settlements that, even today, seem to control valleys and communication routes.
The hills show a major use of agriculture due to the cultivation of vines combined with the exploitation of geological resources.
