The rebirth of Monchiero’s Old Town is owed to the artist Eso Peluzzi, who, one day way back in 1946, caught sight of this small village—then reduced to ruins—from a train, fell in love with it, and decided to restore it entirely, transforming it into a unique workshop, home, and art studio for himself, his grandson Claudio Bonichi, and their families.
Until September, 4th and from September, 22nd to 27th, thanks to an open house organized by the Eso Peluzzi Association in collaboration with the Municipality of Monchiero, visitors can explore the Peluzzi Bonichi Museums, a new network of museums that includes the Oratory of the Disciplinanti, used for temporary exhibitions; Claudio Bonichi’s artist’s home (Casa con gli Archi), where visitors can tour the studio; and the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Rosary.
Opning Hours: from Tuesday to Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
