Resté

Resté
Amid the hills of Diano d'Alba, Montelupo Albese, Rodello e Cerretto Langhe, Resté fosters an ongoing dialogue between contemporary art, landscape and local communities. The project was created to enhance the area’s cultural and environmental heritage through permanent artworks, artist residencies and participatory practices that actively involve residents, schools and local organisations.

The name itself captures the essence of the initiative: in Piedmontese, Resté means “to stay” and evokes the concept of restanza—a way of inhabiting a place based on care, relationships and the ability to imagine the future while remaining rooted in one’s origins. In this context, art becomes a means of encounter, listening and transformation, capable of forging new connections between people and places.

Promoted by the Parish of San Lorenzo in Rodello in collaboration with the Fondazione Santi Lorenzo e Teobaldo and UnTerritorio ETS, the project unfolds across multiple locations, integrating art and landscape and offering new ways to discover and experience the Langhe.

Artist residencies are at the heart of Resté. They are organised in collaboration with Farm Cultural Park, GART – Galleria d’Arte di Neive and, for the PoEM collective, Teatro Stabile di Torino – Teatro Nazionale. Artists, performers and creative practitioners are invited to immerse themselves in the area, engage with local communities and develop works and initiatives inspired by direct encounters with the places and their stories.

In 2026, Resté reaches its fourth edition, further consolidating its role as a widespread cultural platform. The programme includes residencies, workshops, public events, performances and new artistic productions taking place throughout the year. Highlights include a theatre residency by the PoEM collective with Gabriele Vacis, Roberto Tarasco’s scenofonie, residencies by artists Sara Fratini and Uwe Jaentsch, the Radical She project with Farm Cultural Park, the exhibition Dimensioni del Restare, and the creation of the Habitar pavilion for the Countless Cities biennale.

Through these activities, Resté continues to encourage the active participation of local communities, fostering the creation of public artworks, lasting relationships and new ways of inhabiting and interpreting the contemporary landscape.
