The work unfolds as a project of landscape and ecological regeneration that goes beyond the traditional concept of an art installation, becoming instead a living space in constant evolution. Through a profound reflection on the relationship between human beings, nature and biodiversity, the garden imagined by Maria Thereza Alves invites visitors to view the territory as a complex system of relationships, in which memory, culture and environment coexist and mutually influence one another.
The project was developed in collaboration with ecoLogicStudio, an international practice specialising in ecological architecture and design, with the aim of enhancing the site’s environmental characteristics and fostering new forms of interaction between landscape, community and biodiversity.
The work is scheduled to be inaugurated on 11 July 2026, marking the opening to the public of a new space of encounter between contemporary art and nature, destined to become a point of reference for the cultural and landscape enhancement of the region.
Made possible through the support of the National Unified Tourism Fund - Fondo Unico Nazionale per il Turismo (FUNT) of the Italian Ministry of Tourism and the Regione Piemonte, the project represents one of the most significant interventions developed as part of the initiatives dedicated to the UNESCO tenth anniversary and bears witness to the ability of contemporary art to contribute to the interpretation, protection and sustainable transformation of cultural landscapes.
