This is a distinctive red wine, made from Grignolino grapes grown in the hilly areas in the province of Alessandria, more properly of the Monferrato region from which it takes its name. This area lends itself especially to the cultivation of this local vine.

Grape variety: Grignolino from the 90% to 100%; Freisa from 0% to 10%.
Colour: light ruby red, that turns to orange with the ageing.
Bouquet: characteristic, delicate.
Taste: dry, slightly tannic, pleasantly bitter with a characteristic aftertaste.
Minimum alcohol content: 11% vol.
