Obtained from Dolcetto grapes grown exclusively in the hills of the town of Diano d'Alba, about 500 metres above sea level, this red wine is also produced in the Superiore version, which requires a minimum ageing process of about one year. The regulations impose the recognition of 77 Additional Geographical References that in the specific case of the Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba are called "sorì", a word that in Piedmontese dialect means "sunny, well- exposed place".
