Barbaresco Docg

Mentioned by Livy in the "Roman History", this red wine of ancient origins was revived in the late nineteenth century by Professor Domitius Cavazza, Director of the Oenology School of Alba. It is produced exclusively from Nebbiolo grapes grown in the Langhe region, more precisely in the towns of Barbaresco, Neive and Treiso, and in the hamlet of San Rocco Seno d'Elvio the town of Alba. Its production regulations contain a list of 66 additional geographical references, i.e. standards for selection based on the composition of the soil, location and exposure of the vineyard.

Barbaresco is best served in balloon-shaped glasses at a temperature of 18-20 °C.
It is excellent paired with meat dishes, especially roasts and with seasoned or spicy cheese. Perfect with Piedmontese starters with truffles and Porcini mushrooms.
