The Langhe: where every experience stirs up a whirlwind of emotions
The Langhe is an enchanted area, made sublime by excellent food and wine products and unique views, with the wavy geometric patterns of vineyards tended like gardens which, in the Alta Langa, give way to woods, hazelnut groves and pastures.
The Langhe is a treasure trove of culture, home to some unforgettable writers who have captured the very essence of these places; of history, which can be seen in the artistic heritage of these hills; of tradition, especially oenological tradition, which is expressed in its wines appreciated worldwide.

A cultural heritage of inestimable value, an asset accessible to all.
Throughout the year, the Langhe will surprise you in any season, from all angles: whether you stop to enjoy the spectacular views of the vineyards which turn red and yellow in autumn, or whether you ride through the old towns searching for signs of the past, or walk in the footsteps of the stories told by those who have lived and experienced these lands, everything here becomes art with a unique charm.
A perpetual reminder of the exceptional interaction between man and nature, which constantly repeats itself and spellbinds all those who come to these lands.
It is impossible to recommend a single castle or village: here, at every turn, you can experience emotions which are worth more than a visit.
Alta Langa: discover the unexpected
The emotions and flavours of an authentic land are merged in a landscape of high, steep hills, and terraced fields bordered by typical dry stone walls (UNESCO World Heritage Site), where vineyards give way to woods, pastures and hazelnut groves. Alta Langa is home to the prized IGP Piedmont Hazelnut and strong flavoured cheeses such as Murazzano or Robiola di Roccaverano, which are coveted by niche markets around the world.
Pristine nature, silent paths to travel on foot, by bike or on horseback constantly provide ever-changing sceneries where you can test your legs and regenerate your spirit, by nourishing it with a sense of wonder. Alta Langa will surprise you at every turn with countless unexpected treasures: small, well-preserved villages, ancient watchtowers, rural churches rich in frescoes and castles along the ancient Via del Sale, as well as art parks where the landscape becomes an extraordinary setting for contemporary works of art.

The Langa of Wine: hills in a glass
There are countless panoramic viewpoints overlooking a sea of hills adorned with neatly combed vineyards and where villages, towers and castles stand out. They tell a story which is closely entwined with the winemaking tradition of these lands, where today you can taste some of the world's best wines.
A series of unique terroirs where grape varieties such as Moscato, Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo express themselves to the full and result in true oenological masterpieces such as Barolo and Barbaresco, to name but a few of the most renowned. A whole heritage to be discovered in the Enoteche Regionali (Regional Wine Shops) or in the many wineries ready to open their doors to wine lovers from all over the world.
The Alba White Truffle
Please enter the Court of "His Majesty the Alba White Truffle".
He is the King of flavours, an hypogeous mushroom that lives underground, with an irregular and bumpy shape reminiscent of a tuber. It can be found in the groves of the Bassa Langa, in hazelnut or poplar woods, where it grows spontaneously in symbiosis with oaks, willows, lime trees and poplars, or hornbeam and hazelnut trees.
The Trifolao, the expert truffle hunter and his inseparable dog Tabuj have always known all this, and they set off at night in search of this gift of the land. They go out at night, of course, because the dog can do its "job" much better, but also because the Trifolao wants to keep his secrets. After all, precious things must always be protected.
That is why the Centro Nazionale Studi Tartufo (National Truffle Study Centre) was set up in Alba, it is the right place to learn everything there is to know about this product. (www.tuber.it)
To smell its scent and taste it paired with a traditional dish you should definitely visit the International Alba White Truffle Fair, which is held every year between October and December.
