Sunday 19 April will see Darwin Day 2026 celebrated in the Langhe and Roero regions, alongside many other locations across the globe!
Bees and Truffles. Guardians of the environment: this is the theme of the day in honour of the English biologist and father of the theory of evolution, who passed away on 19 April 1882 in London, after a life of travel, study and discovery.
We will discover how truffles and bees, with their honey, not only delight our palates but are also important bioindicators: their biology is fascinating in itself, but their presence and state of health reveal the quality of the ecosystem and the surrounding area.
For the occasion, the LIPU Canapali Nature Reserve will open its gates; this is a stunning natural area created through the environmental regeneration of a former quarry in Magliano Alfieri, just a few metres from the River Tanaro.
