On Saturday, September 27, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Moasca will host a new edition of “Terrazza Monferrato.”
Inside the church of San Rocco, the event will be dedicated to the performing arts, thanks to the collaboration with “INCANTI rassegna internazionale di Teatro di Figura” (INCANTI international puppet theater festival), which will present a performance linked to the figure of San Rocco, a French pilgrim and miracle worker, venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church and patron saint of numerous cities and towns.
The performance, entitled “La noce e la castagna” (The Walnut and the Chestnut), will take the audience on a journey through music, words, and shadows to discover the figure of the saint, suspended between body and spirit, between blood and soul, drawing mainly on popular tradition.
Curated by Jenaro Meléndrez Chas, the lights and shadows of “Controluce Teatro d'ombre” will accompany the musical interludes from Suites No. 2 and No. 4 for solo cello by Johann Sebastian Bach, performed by the young Sofia Artioli; while Alberto Jona, author of the text and director, will guide the audience through a story of reality and fiction, concreteness and imagination, to meet St. Roch once again.
