On Saturday November, 7th 2026 at 5.30 pm, the exhibition “At School: Between Memory and Wonder” will be inaugurated in Asti at the San Giovanni Diocesan Museum, Via Natta 36, as part of the project “At School with the Ancients: Texts and Learning Methods from the Middle Ages to the 20th Century”, which concluded on 18 October at the Seminary Library. Moving on from the history of books and learning methods between the Middle Ages and the Early Modern Period, this cultural exhibition takes us to schools in the first half of the 20th century, through artefacts that illustrate pupils’ daily lives and the evolution of teaching methods.

Thanks to the collaboration with the Photography Section of the Polisportiva Cassa di Risparmio di Asti, this significant photographic exhibition has been realised, including the digitisation and printing of the images on display.

Visitors will also be able to admire the new display created for the 1505 Chapter Cross, crafted by the Cremonese artist Giovanni Antonio Feta.

The exhibition will be open until December, 20th 2026 at the following times:

Friday 3pm–6pm

Saturday and Sunday 9.30am–1pm and 3pm–6pm
