Ten years after the last editio of The Siege of Canelli, Canelli 1613 will be an immersive experience. Visitors will take a step back in time to the months leading up to the historic siege. There will be no battle. It will be something different: daily life in the village in 1613. The first news of war arriving, skirmishes between the people of Canelli and Nice, camps being set up, taverns filled with music, beggars, bandits, children playing in the streets, friars giving blessings, traditional crafts.
The event will start with a grand parade from Piazza Cavour to La Sternia; on Saturday and Sunday, two major performances will take place simultaneously (in Piazza Gioberti and in Villanuova); throughout the event, theatrical skits will be staged, in which the many participants will interact with the audience.
