- Cherasco
On Saturday, June 20, at 9:15 p.m., in the picturesque setting of the courtyard of Palazzo Gotti in Cherasco (the “Giovan Battista Adriani” Museum, with entrance at 33 Via Carlo Alberto), band music and the musical tradition of Piedmont will come together in an event of extraordinary artistic and cultural value dedicated to Maestro Giovanni Ferrua (1843–1919), a composer from Cherasco who represents one of the most significant figures in the region’s musical history, and to Maestro Giuseppe Antonio Unia (1818–1871), a composer from Dogliani and official pianist of the House of Savoy.
The stars of the evening will be the “Il Risveglio” Philharmonic of Dogliani and the “Monsignor Calorio” Band of Cherasco, two historic institutions of the Piedmontese band scene that will join forces to pay tribute to Maestro Ferrua’s work through a concert of great prestige and emotional intensity
Adding further prestige to the concert will be the participation of two soloists from the RAI National Symphony Orchestra: trombonist Devid Ceste and trumpeter Alessandro Caruana, musicians of recognized artistic merit and leading figures in major professional endeavors both nationally and internationally.
Admission is free
In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held at the Sanctuary of Nostra Signora del Popolo
