- Barolo
On Sunday 10 August, starting at 8 p.m., the historic Piazza Falletti in Barolo will be the centrepiece of an evening that combines wine, culture, astronomy, a touch of poetry and music in an enchanted atmosphere.
After years of success as ‘Calici di Stelle’ (Goblets of Stars), the event changes name, but not spirit: at the behest of the National Association of Wine Cities, the first edition of ‘Le Notti del Vino’ (Wine Nights) kicks off, keeping the winning formula intact.
Like every year, the WiMu - Museo del Vino will take part in the event with an extraordinary opening at night, from 20.00 to 24.00 (with the ticket office closing at 23.00), offering the chance to admire the vault of heaven surrounded by World Heritage vineyards, while sipping the King of Wines. Throughout the evening it will be possible to observe the sky thanks to the telescopes provided by the INAF - Osservatorio Astrofisico di Torino, with the guidance and expertise of the experts present.
All this will be accompanied by pleasant live musical entertainment, designed to accompany the tasting and cultural experience. For those who love adventure, the night will also offer two sessions of Castle Angels, the escape room set in the Castle, scheduled at 8 pm and 9.30 pm. Participation is only possible by advance booking.
The entrance ticket to the museum will follow the usual rates and will be free for holders of the Abbonamento Musei (Museum Pass). The single Barolo tasting will cost 6 euros, while the combined package (one tasting + admission to the WiMu) will be available at the special price of 12 euros. Reservations are strongly recommended, by writing to info@wimubarolo.it or calling 0173/386697.
In case of bad weather, the event will take place regularly inside, without sacrificing the atmosphere.
