Exhibition ‘cast of Michelangelo's Pietà Vaticana’ - Alba
Alba

On Friday 8 May, an exhibition will open at Palazzo Banca d’Alba to explore the evolution of society, language and customs by comparing the past and the present. “How it was / How it is: from 1895 to the present day” is a cultural project promoted by the Fondazione Banca d’Alba that aims to explore the evolution of society, language and customs by comparing the past and the present.
The project revolves around a simple yet timely question: who were we, and how did we become who we are today? A journey that connects 1895 with the present day by drawing parallels across various fields: art and design, music and cinema, medicine, sport, fashion, history and society, with the aim of providing tools for interpreting the present and inspiration for imagining the future.

The project is divided into two complementary parts: a series of public talks and a multimedia, immersive exhibition, which will be hosted in the spaces of Palazzo Banca d’Alba from Saturday 9 May 2026, following the opening scheduled for Friday 8 May at 6 pm.

On Tuesday 28 May, cinema will take centre stage with a leading figure such as Paolo Mereghetti, film critic and journalist, a key figure in Italian cinema.
