Our winery, Azienda Vinicola Valle Erro, was founded in 1961 thanks to the passion and foresight of Lorenzo Malfatti. Starting from the small family farm built through his parents’ hard work and dedication, he succeeded, through a lifetime of effort, to establish a solid winemaking business deeply rooted in the local territory.
We are located in Cartosio, a small Piedmontese village nestled in the Monferrato hills—a place where viticulture and rural traditions are woven into the fabric of history and daily life. It is precisely this connection to the land that has always been one of our winery’s core values: working the land, honoring its bounty, and bringing the identity of the place where we were born and raised into every glass.
Over the years, the winery has grown alongside the family, passing from one generation to the next without ever losing sight of its roots. Today, the winery is run by the third generation of the Malfatti family: with passion and dedication they continue the work begun by Lorenzo, preserving family traditions while looking to the future with a commitment to improvement and innovation.
Our wines are born from the union of tradition, terroir, and a passion for winemaking. The wide variety of grapes grown in our Piedmont region allows us to offer a broad and diverse selection of wines, each expressing distinct characteristics and personalities. Added to this is the value of the Piedmontese soil, with its diverse components and unique qualities, which lends our wines a character that is truly unique and deeply rooted in the environment where they are produced.
In this way every bottle tells a part of our story: that of a family that has been working in the world of wine for over sixty years, keeping alive a legacy of knowledge passed down through the generations. From the vineyards to the cellar, we strive to approach every stage with care and attention, so that wine is not merely a product, but also a way to tell the story of our family, our region, and our history.
