I am Emanuele Rolfo, wine producer in Roero territory, a small area of Piedmont, located north of the Tanaro river. Cà di Cairé is the family name on my mother’s side. Since the early 1900s, my ancestors cultivated the vineyards near home and then vinified the few grapes for family use and a few local sales. The history continued with my paternal grandfather Giovanni, a small vine dresser of native grapes in Cisterna d’Asti. Later the baton was picked up by my parents, with my mother as key figure of the winery, and now it is in my hands, along with the precious hand of my wife Cesira and of our children.
Today our vineyards are cultivated with Nebbiolo, Barbera and Arneis grapes, autochthonous varieties of Piedmont, on 7 hectares of land within the commune of Montà, on soils of different composition, from sandy to clayey and pebbly.
For each of them, we produce a young version, an aged version and one without added sulphites.
