The Rivata company was founded in the 60s in the municipality of Guarene. Initially, it was mostly arable land that was cultivated and cattle were raised. Over the years and the change of generations, production also turned to vineyards and orchards. Calf rearing continued until around 2010, after which we decided to dedicate ourselves full-time to the land. Sidré is the first and only cider made from Madernassa, a pear variety typical of the Roero area, with hard, compact, not very juicy pulp, ideal for cooked preparations. Originally born in the village of Guarene about a century and a half ago, in the eponymous hamlet, the Madernassa pear is still pretty unknown. Despite its excellent quality, it has remained confined to more exclusive productions. Sparkling, dry and with a low alcohol content, our cider is more akin to a sparkling brut wine than to classic French and English ciders. Sidré was created with the intent of enhancing the Madernassa pear variety, an indigenous and typical product of the Roero area.
