Now owned by Scaglione Sergio, and before that by Scaglione Ettore, this farming company has a long history: it has been handed down and always improved from father to son thanks to the help of the whole family business. This company has developed thanks to the passing on of skills and expertise between entrepreneurs, from one generation to the next; it is capable of taking on challenges with quick, balanced and innovative decisions, and is part of one of those ""few but essential"" companies whose ultimate goal is product quality, providing end-consumers with a guaranteed and definite product. If you happen to be in the area between October and January, you will find the so-called ""Cardo Gobbo"" (hunchback thistle). The Cardo is sown around May-June, grows to a height of one metre and around mid-September it is tied and bent in a specially created ditch. After about twenty days, the thistle is harvested and cleaned of its outer leaves. From May to July you will find strawberries and the first garden produce (courgettes, salads, etc.). Starting in July, you will find garlic, peppers, tomatoes, aubergines, melons and watermelons.
