Originally from Burgundy, Chardonnay is now one of the most popular white grape varieties in the world. Cultivated in many different regions of the world (New Zealand, Israel, Australia, California, Chile, Argentina, etc. and of course, Italy), its name is often a synonym of quality white wine. Easy to grow, as it adapts to all types of terrain and climate, it has a usually high and constant yield per hectare. Chardonnay is traditionally grown successfully in Italy especially in the Subalpine area and is used to produce high-quality wines in Piedmont, Friuli, Veneto, Trentino, Valle d'Aosta. It is a vine that boasts an incredible variety of aromatic components, which emerge depending on the soil and climate where it is grown. Its grapes produce very alcoholic wines with an excellent floral and subtly sweet taste, enhanced by ageing in wooden barrels. Its aromas also make it very suitable to produce a sparkling wine.
