Moscato d'Asti Docg

Moscato d'Asti and its sparkling version, Asti Spumante, are today among the most popular dessert wines in the world. Both wines, sharing the same product specification, are produced exclusively from Moscato grapes grown in 52 towns located in the southern area of Piedmont, more precisely in the provinces of Alessandria, Asti and Cuneo. Historical documents attest to the production of Moscato in the Monferrato and Langhe territory as early as 1200.

Moscato d'Asti goes beautifully with pastry, but can also be offered with tarts, hazelnut cakes, torta paradiso and sweets in general. A recent trend is to pair it even with cheese and salami or generally savoury dishes. It is a nice pairing with spicy foods, which makes it popular in the U.S. paired with ethnic food, especially Indian.
