Dry red wine with a strong personality produced only in Calosso, from which it takes its name, Castagnole Lanze and Costigliole d'Asti. The latest wine to be classified as a Docg with the intent of protecting a niche product made from Gamba Rossa or Gamba di Pernice vines (original name of this wine). The grapes are native of Piedmont, more specifically of a small portion in the Asti region, and they were risking extinction before being rediscovered and appreciated by a small group of local producers. Its production regulations impose various types: Calosso, Calosso Riserva and Calosso Passarà (from dried grapes).
