A sweet red wine made from Brachetto grapes grown in 26 towns located between the Southern portion of the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, especially the area around Acqui. It is made in three different varieties: still, sparkling and dessert wine (made from partly dried grapes). This prestigious wine was already renowned in Roman times as vinum acquense especially for its alleged aphrodisiac properties.

Grape Variety: Brachetto from the 97% to 100%, while the remaining 3% is made from grapes grown in recommended or authorised vineyards.
Colour: ruby red of medium intensity that turns light garnet or pink.
Bouquet: musky, very delicate, characteristic.
Palate: sweet, soft, delicate.
Minimum alcohol content: 5,50% – 7% vol.
