Brachetto d'Acqui Docg

A sweet red wine made from Brachetto grapes grown in 26 towns located between the Southern portion of the provinces of Asti and Alessandria, especially the area around Acqui. It is made in three different varieties: still, sparkling and dessert wine (made from partly dried grapes). This prestigious wine was already renowned in Roman times as vinum acquense especially for its alleged aphrodisiac properties.

Brachetto d'Acqui is served in a goblet and its ideal temperature is 6-8 °C. It is recommended after a meal with dessert and as an accompaniment to biscuits. It can be used for the preparation of fresh and thirst-quenching cocktails, fruit salads and sorbets and, for those who enjoy special and unusual recipes, also in risotto.
