Motorbike - Langhe

A di-wine story

A tour through the world's best wine hotspots (UNESCO World Heritage Site) to discover the roots of our history. We can do it all in one go, but you will certainly come back with the excuse of testing the stability of your... kickstand. A pit stop you cannot miss!

The tour starts in Alba, the capital of the Langhe, and we head straight up to the hills of the Langa del Barolo which, like a necklace, connect the slopes towards Sörì - as the Langhe people call the slopes facing longer exposure to sunlight – of the small villages of Roddi, Verduno, La Morra its Belvedere, Barolo and Novello.

Along the way you will come across wineries, wine shops and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the breaktaking hills neatly combed by rows of vines. Monviso, the King of Stone, stands out in the background.

We descend, also metaphorically, down the plain, into the roots of our history, to Bene Vagienna, the ancient Roman city Augusta Bagiennorum, where nowadays it is possible to visit the archaeological site.

We climb back up into the Langa to return to the production area of great red wines, passing through Monchiero and Dogliani, towards one of the Borghi più Belli d’Italia (Italy’s most beautiful villages), Monforte d'Alba: its old town centre is definitely worth a stop!

Next, we are back in the saddle: we go to Roddino, Serralunga d'Alba and then, after a series of ups and downs we get to the castle of Grinzane Cavour and to Diano d'Alba with its Belvedere from which you can enjoy the view and, why not, have a glass of wine before returning to Alba.
