HAZELNUT SPREAD

There is no need to mention the great director Nanni Moretti who, in an epic scene in the 1983 movie Bianca, seeks consolation for his obsessions and manias in a huge jar of hazelnut spread. It is well known that hazelnut cream is a panacea for the soul, and even the most self-righteous health-conscious eaters succumb to the lure of that unique flavour, even if they will never confess it. The Alba-based Ferrero's Nutella, the large-scale evolution of the gianduia cream, is perhaps among the world's best-known confectionery products, but not everyone knows that this delicious dessert is also produced in an artisanal way by a plurality of small companies that follow the traditional recipe born in Turin, using Piedmont hazelnuts PGI, those grown in the Langhe Monferrato Roero area. It all began with the economic blockade that Napoleon imposed on the products from Britain and its colonies and the sudden shortage of cocoa. The solution was found by replacing cocoa with the ""round and gentle hazelnut"" from the Langhe, and so Gianduja chocolate was born, which in its fluid version, using milk, is both a guarantee of energetic breakfasts and a dispenser of pleasant gourmet moments.Little jars that hold magical wellness potions where in case of need you do not have to break the glass, just unscrew the lid, sink the spoon, half-close your eyes and... rejoice!
