Day 1 – Welcome to the Piedmont & Barolo Bike Tour

Meals included: dinner
Arrive on your own in the Barolo wine region. Private transfers from Alba train station, Turin or Milan airports are available for an extra charge. The Piedmont & Barolo Bike Tour sets off with an afternoon at leisure, to get acquainted with the village of Barolo. Check-in at the selected hotel and enjoy a free afternoon to relax by the hotel’s pool or explore the town of Barolo: you can visit the modern WiMu (wine museum), and the unique Corkscrew Museum or step inside some of the numerous wine shops. After booking, we provide a list of things to do and dining suggestions within walking distance of the hotel. Tonight a table in a traditional restaurant has been booked to savor the traditional cuisine of Piedmont. Partake on a 4-course menu paired with local wines.

Day 2 – Cycling in the Barolo Wine Region

Meals included: breakfast and wine tasting
Wake up surrounded by the vineyards of Piedmont and views over the Langhe hills. Then, enjoy a hearty breakfast with a selection of local products. Bikes are delivered to the hotel at 9 am ready for the bike fitting and familiarization with the rental bike expert. Guests who decide to include a cycling tour guide will be greeted and discuss the daily itinerary. Guests who opt for the self-guided tour can download our recorded routes on their devices. Depart for a panoramic cycling tour in the Barolo wine region. You will pedal on some of the most scenic wine routes of the Langhe hills, a UNESCO World Heritage site where medieval castles and farmhouses are nestled amongst the vineyards. A Langhe Bike Tour with a Barolo Wine Tasting. Late morning, stop in a small, family-run Barolo winery where you will be greeted by the family members. Visit the cellar and enjoy a wine tasting paired with salami and cheese (this is not a meal but enough to satisfy your appetite). Then, the Langhe Bike Tour continues climbing the slopes of La Morra, Verduno, and Castiglione Falletto, through medieval hamlets, and riding on both paved countryside roads and gravel paths. Return to the hotel late afternoon where we secured a space to store the bikes and a charging station for the electric bikes. Tonight explore the village of Barolo and pick one of the cozy restaurants for dinner on your own.

Day 3 – The Hills and Castles of Piedmont on a Bike Tour

Meals included: breakfast
After breakfast, pedal to the hills and castles south of Alba, where the average elevation gets higher to leave behind the vineyards of Barolo. The Piedmont & Barolo Bike Tour today takes you to the so-called Alta Langa hills, with breathtaking views over the Piedmont region. On a sunny day, the view spans from the southern peaks of the Alps bordering France to the Matterhorn! The hills and castles of Piedmont unravel as the bike tour arrives at villages like Serralunga d’Alba, Roddino, and Albaretto Torre, just to mention a few. Take a break for lunch on your own in one of the rustic osteria or maybe go for a lighter meal in a local café. Continue your bike tour in Piedmont descending the winding roads through hazelnut orchards and hardier vegetation, all the way back to the wine region of Barolo. Return to your hotel and enjoy the exceptional food of Piedmont for dinner at your discretion. Maybe you can indulge in truffle-infused dishes, local cheeses, or authentic Italian pizza in quaint restaurants.

Day 4 – A Bike Tour to Alba, pearl of the Langhe Hills

Meals included: breakfast
The last cycling day of this bike tour in Italy’s Piedmont region goes through Grinzane Cavour, Diano d’Alba and it reaches the edge of the area of production of Barbaresco wine, on the eastern hills of Alba. The Piedmont & Barolo Bike Tour is likely to be at a leisurely pace, allowing participants to soak in the beauty of the region, enjoy the wines, and experience the local culture. Take a break in the city of Alba for a visit to a truffle shop or simply visit one of our recommended pastry and coffee shops for a tasting of chocolate pralines, freshlymade puff pastries, and a cappuccino! Continue pedaling back to the hotel where the bikes will be collected at 6 pm. Tonight celebrate the completion of your Piedmont & Barolo Bike Tour with one more dinner. Perhaps you can dine in one of the Michelin-star restaurants of the Barolo wine region and we can help you arrange a private driver.
