From June 14 to 18, the Asti Teatro 48 festival will host the artistic residency “La casa in collina,” a research project directed by Mario Scandale with a dramatic adaptation by Giulia Bartolini. The exploration, which draws from Cesare Pavese’s masterpiece of the same name, does not aim for a simple narrative adaptation, but rather a “theatrical translation” capable of resonating with urgent themes such as individual responsibility, memory, and paralysis in the face of conflict.
The program begins on Sunday, June 14, with a full immersion in Pavese’s world: following a guided tour of the House Museum in Santo Stefano Belbo (10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.), the work will continue with a creative writing workshop led by Vittoria Dezzani (Piccola Libreria Indipendente) and Giulia Bartolini. The residency will then be hosted at the Asti Historical Archives, transforming the space of memory into a living laboratory of contemporary creation.
