- Monforte D'Alba
The original and probably unique historical re-enactment dedicated to the Cathars is coming back to Monforte d'Alba, transforming the ancient village into an open-air theater with voices, sounds, and atmosphere of the early Middle Ages
The event recalls an episode that actually took place in 1028, when one of the first documented heretical outbreaks in northern Italy took shape in the “castrum” of Mons Fortis. On Friday and Saturday at 9.15 pm, an evocative procession of 150 participants retraces these dramatic events with charm and realism.
On Sunday, September 7, at 7 pm in the Horzowski Auditorium, there will be a performance by the Patin e Tesor group of musicians and flag throwers from Alba, followed by a Cathar-themed dinner organized by the Pro Loco of Monforte at 8.30 pm (reservations at 339 718 9282).
