PASTICCERIA GIORDANINO

Pasticceria Giordanino, founded in 1912 in Corso Alfieri, Asti's high street, is a point of reference for Italian haute patisserie and is included in the circuit of historical shops in Italy and in the European Art Nouveau circuit, thanks to its furnishings designed and custom-made by famous carvers in the last century. The production of local specialities that have become symbols of the city began with Aldo Giordanino, who created the famous ""polentina delle tre mandorle"" (three-almond polenta), the Palio cake, the Pan d'la Douja and many other recipes that have remained unchanged over time. These were joined by the Cabiria cake, the hazelnut cake and other delicacies born from the mind of Nello Maggiora, heir of the Giordanino dynasty. A wide selection of the best local wines is housed on the shelves of the boiserie and there are also themed tastings arranged for tourists. Over time, the production of fresh pastries and local specialities has been enriched with everything that can be made for an event such as a wedding, from the wedding cake to the ""wedding table"", from the sugared almonds with the best Italian confectionery brands to the creation of wedding favours, always elegant and up-to-date. An office dedicated entirely to the organisation of private and corporate events is run by Chiara, the owner's daughter.
