Distillerie Berta is a family story spanning three generations, united by a shared vision: to express the soul of the Monferrato—recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site—through products of outstanding excellence. The roots of the Berta family’s success date back to 1947, when Paolo Berta founded the distillery, becoming a pioneer in experimenting with and perfecting the aging of grappa in wooden barrels—an innovation that would redefine quality standards in the sector. Today, Distillerie Berta produces more than 30 varieties of grappa and six types of liqueurs, the result of a refined distillation art perfected over decades. These exceptional products are exported worldwide, embodying the authenticity and elegance of Piedmontese tradition. Driven by a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a deep sense of teamwork, the Berta family has successfully expanded into the world of hospitality, creating immersive experiences that celebrate their land and heritage. This vision has given life to refined destinations such as Relais Villa Castelletto, the charming Villa Prato, the restored Castello di Monteu Roero, and more recent projects including the revival of Castelletto dell’Annunziata and Borgo Roccanivo, as well as a pastry workshop dedicated to producing the traditional amaretto di Mombaruzzo. Their commitment extends beyond business to social and environmental responsibility. Through the SoloPerGian Foundation, funded by the sale of a special grappa, they support initiatives for young people and the unemployed. In addition, a reforestation project launched in May 2020 led to the planting of 900 trees in Kenya, reflecting a forward-looking approach rooted in respect for the land and community.
