The story of Distilleria Dellavalle began in 1983 in Vigliano d'Asti, right in the heart of Piedmont's wine-growing tradition. After a long experience in the sector, the dream of Roberto Dellavalle, a passionate oenologist and connoisseur of the world of wine and grappa, came to life. Technique, knowledge, innovation, targeted market research - these are some of the main features that have allowed Distilleria Dellavalle to grow exponentially. Today, the distillery's craft tradition is carried on by their children Lorenzo and Federica. The aim is always to produce and successfully sell niche products according to customer requirements. Distillates are produced in-house using a discontinuous bain-marie distillation plant from a skilful selection of fresh grape marc. The main technique that distinguishes this company is ageing: in addition to the 18-month ageing in oak barriques, there is a special technique designed to age barbera grappa for 10 years in barriques previously used to age Marsala, Passito di Pantelleria, Porto, Whisky, Picolit and Malvasia delle Lipari. By doing so, the product inside the barrique will be able to absorb most of the aromas contained in the wood crevices, resulting in very special scents and aromas in the grappa.
