The Alba White Truffle season opens with the first hunt at midnight on 1 October, marked by the Truffle New Year, celebrated this year in the heart of the city of Alba.

On Tuesday 30 September at 9 pm, in the Teatro Sociale ‘G. Busca’, ‘La Notte del Debutto’ (The Night of the Debut) will see the official presentation to the region of the 95th edition of the International Alba White Truffle Fair, in collaboration with the ‘Profondo Umano’ Festival, toasting with a glass of Alta Langa DOCG.

This will be followed by the evocative parade of the Union of Piedmontese Trifulao Associations, which will start from Piazza Michele Ferrero: the trifulao, accompanied by their inseparable dogs, will lead the public on a symbolic journey to Piazza Risorgimento. The route will be immersed in the sounds of the forest, which will come to life thanks to Filippo Cosentino's “Alba Sonora” project.

Ahead of the ceremony, in the Cortile della Maddalena, with entrance from Piazzetta Giovanni Falcone, in three rounds (at 6 p.m., 6.45 p.m. and 7.30 p.m.), the citizens of Alba and truffle enthusiasts will have the unique opportunity to preview the International White Truffle Fair of Alba, still in the process of being set up, before its official opening on 11 October.

During the visit, you will be able to enter the pavilions under construction and the Beppe Fenoglio Room, where you will learn about the contents of the Fair, the events scheduled and some interesting facts related to the world of truffles. In addition, you will be able to experience behind the scenes of one of the most anticipated events in the area, discovering how an international event is created and prepared. Finally, you will be able to explore the MUDET - Truffle Museum, an immersive space dedicated to the “diamond of the earth”. A special opportunity to experience the magic of the Fair from a privileged perspective, combining culture, tradition and innovation.
