The Fossils Trail
The Fossils Trail is a 13-stage itinerary that winds through the northern part of the Province of Asti, bordering on the Province of Turin. It covers 93 km along low-traffic roads, in a natural setting that guards a thousand-year-old secret: fossils. These are the remains of the sea that once covered everything here, before the land shaped the sinuous hills that today are a treat for visitors. Important finds have been recorded in the area: a visit to the Museum of Fossils - Paleontological Park of Asti is highly recommended before leaving in order to learn all the secrets of this very special phenomenon.
From Dusino San Michele to Castell'Alfero, passing through many small villages rich in art, culture and traditions: from Cocconato, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy to Castelnuovo Don Bosco where everything speaks about the Saint, from the precious church of San Pietro to Montiglio Monferrato. A trail suitable for everyone, with no particularly steep gradients, which will help you take a curious look at everything around you.
