Along the road leading from Alba and Treiso to the hills of the Alta Langa… you’ll be tempted to stop: vineyards on one side and woods on the other… with the beautiful hills in the background. You have arrived at the “Donna di Langa” Viewpoint in Trezzo Tinella: on Saturday 24 October 2026 at 10.00 am, it will be officially opened following a major landscape and cultural regeneration project.  The project restores quality and distinctiveness to a place deeply rooted in the identity of the Langhe. A simple rest area becomes a space for discovering the landscape, history and local traditions. The rest area is situated along Provincial Road 265, at a junction linking Trezzo Tinella, Treiso, Mango, Benevello and Borgomale… and has long been a stopping point for residents, walkers, cycle tourists and visitors. During the autumn, it becomes a focal point for truffle hunting in the surrounding woods (you’ll find two new information panels dedicated to this prized fungus and two new mycorrhizal truffle-bearing plants). With the recent redevelopment of the area, the sculpture "Donna di Langa" by the artist Marco Gallo – which has long been a feature of the viewpoint – has taken on a new also takes on a new central role. The work has become a symbol of the strength, hard work and dignity of the women who, through their hard work, have shaped the history and landscape of these hills. Here you’ll find two new information panels telling the stories of two women who, in different ways, embody the history of the Langhe. “Women with their feet firmly on the ground”, as the narrative on the new panels puts it. Women who have given this land much of what we reap today.
