On Sunday, August 2, at 4:30 p.m. at Roddi Castle, “SOS Cuochi” is scheduled—a family tour designed for children ages 6 to 12 and for adults who wish to share an afternoon of curiosity, discovery, and hands-on activities with them.
The experience will begin with a stroll through the halls of the castle’s main floor, followed by a descent into the evocative Renaissance kitchens, where participants will discover how meals were prepared throughout different eras, what ingredients graced the tables of the past, and how tastes, eating habits, and the utensils used for cooking and serving have evolved—all explained in simple and engaging language. The tour will then turn into an interactive activity. With the help of the guide and illustrated worksheets, children and parents will be invited to “prepare” banquets from different eras, putting their intuition and observation skills to the test to reconstruct the proper way of setting the table and serving food throughout the centuries.
