The State Archives of Asti and the Institute for the History of the Resistance and Contemporary Society in the Province of Asti (ISRAT) are organizing the documentary exhibition “1946: Lights and Shadows of Rebirth,” which will be on view at the State Archives from September 18 to November 20, 2026, during the Institute’s regular opening hours. The exhibition, part of a four-year project carried out by the two institutions, aims to illustrate what 1946 meant for the people of the Province of Asti, exploring both the political events that shaped the nation’s history and the daily life that struggled to return to normalcy.
The opening is scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2026, at 5:00 p.m., with the exhibition open to visitors until 7:30 p.m.
The exhibition will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with guided tours available for individuals or groups by reservation.
Special openings are planned for the European Heritage Days on September 26 and 27, and for “Domenica di Carta” on October 11.
