A new exhibition opens at the Alba Diocesan Museum on Thursday, May 22, at 6 p.m.: "A Giving Community. A journey through the centuries."
H.E. Bishop Marco Brunetti and director and curator Silvia Gallarato will speak.
On the occasion of the Ordinary Jubilee 2025, the National Office for Ecclesiastical Cultural Heritage is the promoter of the national project IN YOUR NAME, art speaks of community, an initiative involving Italian dioceses with the aim of emphasizing the commitment of Christian communities, past and present, in preserving, enhancing and handing down cultural heritage.
The Office of Ecclesiastical Cultural Heritage of the Diocese of Alba has joined the project by putting on display some works of art from the Cathedral of Alba and paper documents from the historical archives and the diocesan library that tell the story of how the communities of yesterday contributed, through faith, care and donations, to the definition of an important historical and artistic heritage of which we are the custodians today. Indeed, the task of today's communities is to take care of this legacy: the 8xmille funds that taxpayers choose to allocate to the Catholic Church are an important resource for contributing to the preservation and restoration of religious buildings, works of art, ancient documents or books.
Participation is free and open to all.
The exhibition can be visited until Nov. 30, 2025, during the opening hours of the Diocesan Museum:
from Tuesday to Friday from 3 to 6 pm, on Saturday and on Sunday from 2.30 to 6.30 pm.
