Swing Trail

The loop starts in Piazza Giovanni Balbo and leads to the Altalanga, the giant swing of Cossano Belbo, a unique and inimitable icon!

The 8.6-kilometre trail starts at an altitude of 244 metres above sea level and reaches one of the highest points in the area at an altitude of 590 metres. Travelling anti-clockwise, after the initial section through the village, the trail continues along the SP 592 and then the SP 31 up to the small church of San Martino, a national monument. Here you join a section of the Masino Trail and, from this point onwards, you pass through all the rich variety of nature and the area' s cultivation: chestnut and deciduous woods, walnut groves, vineyards, hazelnut groves, meadows and arable land.

When you reach the Giant Swing, the view is priceless and you cannot hold back the urge to capture it in a photo. The walk back through municipal roads and nature takes us down to the lower part, where we enter part of the Sentiero della Scala Santa (Holy Staircase Trail) and then head back towards the village centre.
