Sentiero Azzurro (Light Blue Trail)
This is one of the easiest trails of the six Agliano loops. About 50% of it is on dirt road, it is 5.75 km long and can be tackled with a walk lasting one and a half to two hours.
The trail always starts from Piazza Roma, but you walk southwards. You will come across the small church of San Sebastiano, built in 1809 on the ruins of the ancient church of San Michele e Bovo, which, itself, stood on an ancient cemetery of Roman origin.
Proceed along the road to Monsarinero. From here on, you will come across several farms and wineries known for their production of typical local wines. The walk takes you through neat and tidy vineyards to Bricco delle Rocche and then to the “Bric”, an expression used in Piedmontese dialect to identify the top of a hill. Here, take some time to enjoy the landscape of the surrounding valleys and villages.
The trail continues up and down, always on a dirt road, as far as Borgata Crena and then it runs along a tree-lined avenue and find the asphalted road again in the hamlet of Verzella. Further off-road track and you reach Valle Repulento, which leads to Pozzo dello Zonco and from there back towards Agliano Terme and the car park.
