Sandro Bobbio Path
When you exit the village a full-immersion in the Moscato vineyards waits for you and continues for almost the entire route. Almost immediately you meet an old Walnut tree and then, at the bottom, the remains of an ancient farmhouse; between the vineyards, now always at the hillside, you are under the village and the Brosia hill at your left, the wood with oaks, sessile oaks, false acacias, hazels and poplars is down below and characterizes the small valley crossed by Rio delle Rocche.
The landscape is open and continuing it extends even more toward the Monferrato hills to the north, above the Balbi hamlet where there is the Shrine of the Madonna del Buon Consiglio. On the main road the view opens to the east, south-east, now you encounter a Ciabot (small cottage) in excellent condition and descent reaching the edge of the typical local wood. After turning left you find the rows and after ten meters you are in a position dominating the small valley that looks like large arena of vineyards in a stunning panoramic view; the horizon, from the north to the east, offers the hills of the province of Asti, in the foreground the village of Calosso that stands out with its characteristic tower of the old waterworks. Cross the valley heading the front ridge that houses rural church of San Bovo.
A new landscape opens to the south-east and below you can see the Badia; that is the last great wood of Castiglione that also climbs up the Rocche di tufo. The last dirt stretch is the old road that once led to the village: it passes below it, offering a glimpse of the little historic centre. The roads end up between the houses of the village.
