Pathway 1
Rocche dei 7 Fratelli Cappelletto
The itinerary starts in Piazza Baracco, which both the Assunta parish church and the Town Hall look onto. It sets off downhill towards Alba and leaves the main road after 100 metres, turning off to the left. When the paths forks after a few dozen metres, take the right fork skirting the area of Mazzalupo to the Basso farm. Continue along the bottom of the “Rocche dei 7 Fratelli” and then up the path which borders the Rocks, up to the panoramic lookout of the Romantic Road of Langhe Roero area, to admire a unique landscape.
Continue south along a small paved road that leads to the Meruzzano district. After the hamlet, the road is unpaved again. It passes the houses of Ginotti and the Rocchetti farm, then turns right, crossing Rio Alice, and reaches the village of Cappelletto. It turns, climbing to the left, first on a concrete surface and then on a dirt road.
From here you can admire the beautiful view that continues until the path reaches the provincial road, which you follow for about 100 metres, before turning off onto a paved section that climbs along the provincial road for Treiso, to the chapel of Vignetta. From here the path follows the headland to the top of the hill from where you can admire from one side the total view of Treiso village and from the other side the hills and the castles of Roero area. From the provincial road the path reaches the hamlet of Giaccone; from here it continues to a point about 100 metres before the cemetery where you take a dirt track to the left, returning to the starting point.
