Trekking - Langa del Barolo - Dogliani

Path 6 - Dogliani

Ring Dogliani - Monchiero - Monforte d'Alba - Torricella - Dogliani

Dogliani - Monchiero
Once you have reached the end of the cycle path, turn right and go up the asphalt road for about 700 metres. Turn left onto the dirt track and continue along halfway up the hill through woods and vineyards until you come to the outskirts of Monchiero. After around 800 metres, turn right onto a very steep gravel road that goes up to the charming old village of Monchiero alto, from where you can enjoy far-reaching views.

Monchiero – Monforte d’Alba
Passing alongside the cemetery, go down towards the hamlet of Bagnaschi and then turn right into a dense wood on the valley floor to then go back up near Cascina Benevella. Continue along the crest of the hill on the asphalt road for around 1.3 km, passing in front of the country chapel of San Sebastiano. Turn left onto a dirt track running through chestnut and oak tree woods and then back onto the asphalt near Cascina Botte.
After around 500 metres you will come to a crossroads:
- turn right to go down to Dogliani;
- or continue straight on, and after the hamlet of Benenti, go up to Monforte d’Alba along the main road.

Monforte d’Alba- Torricella - Dogliani
From Monforte d’Alba, go down the main road until you come to the hamlet of San Giuseppe. Carry on along the panoramic road that leads through old farmhouses and brings you to Cascina Manera, then follow the path until you reach the valley floor. From here, go back towards the hamlet of Torricella, passing in front of a golf course. From the hamlet of Torricella continue along the sandy road along the crest of the hill from which you can enjoy a beautiful view. On your left, you will see woods and hazelnut groves typical of the Alta Langa and on your right vineyards typical of the Barolo area.

Re-enter the municipality of Dogliani on a road that alternates between asphalt and dirt track walking through unspoilt nature until you arrive in the village of Dogliani. At the crossroads of San Luigi you can continue to the right and pass through the beautiful Einaudi park (Luigi Einaudi was a president of the Republic of Italy), to reach Monchiero.
