Ring Grinzane Cavour - Diano d’Alba - Montelupo Albese - Rodello – Montelupo Albese - Serralunga d’Alba - Gallo – Grinzane Cavour
Grinzane Cavour – Diano d’Alba
Follow the main road towards Diano d’Alba for 600 metres. From the hamlet of Farinetti turn right onto a dirt road that descends through the vineyards until you come to the road running along the valley floor. Turn left here and go up towards Carzello, carry on for around 1 km along this road with panoramic views. Then turn right onto a path and continue along the dirt track until you reach an asphalt road. Turn left here, and carry on until you come to the Cantina dei Produttori Dianesi. Turn right here, and follow the dirt track until you reach the outskirts of Diano d’Alba.
Diano d’Alba – Montelupo Albese
Go straight along via Madonnina until you come to a chapel, turn right here and carry on for around 200 metres and then turn right again and continue on to the little church of San Calogero. Turn left here, and continue on until the main road where you turn right towards Montelupo Albese. Continue along this road for around 1.4 km. When you get to Cascina Rossotto turn left onto the dirt track and continue on to Montelupo Albese.
Montelupo Albese - Rodello – Montelupo Albese
Once you have passed the village, turn left at the crossroads towards Sinio and continue on towards the cemetery outside Rodello. Turn left here onto a dirt track that descends through hazelnut groves and vineyards; after about 1.3 km you will come to Rodello. Go up to the centre of the village and take the dirt road through the vineyards that will bring you back to the start of the village. From here go back the way you came all the way to Montelupo Albese.
Montelupo Albese – Serralunga d’Alba
Once you reach the main road, turn left onto a road with beautiful panoramic views leading down to Sinio. After about 2.5 km, turn right onto an asphalt road that becomes a dirt track almost straight away and that takes you to down through unspoilt nature and past old farmhouses, until you come to the road that runs along the valley floor near the little church of Sant'Antonio. Go past the chapel and carry on straight ahead; after having crossed the Talloria stream, go up a steep road through vineyards and woods until you come to the hamlet of Ceratti di Serralunga d’Alba.
Serralunga d’Alba – Grinzane Cavour
From Serralunga d’Alba, go down the road towards i Vei, for around 700 metres, turn right onto a dirt track just before you reach the hamlet and carry on halfway up the hill through the vineyards; a final brief ascent will bring you to the hamlet of Parafada. Turn right here and then left on to the main road, follow this for 100 metres and then turn right onto the road that goes up to Bricco Ceretta. From here take the dirt track that goes down to the hamlet of Sorano and continue along the road with spectacular views that runs along the crest of the hill through the vineyards of Fontanafredda until you reach the first houses of Gallo di Grinzane Cavour. Turn right onto the dirt track that runs along the valley floor and continue on until you come to the hamlet Talloria. Turn left, and continue for 300 metres; turn right onto the asphalt road running along the valley floor and follow it until you come to the hamlet of Carzello.
Turn left here, and go up the dirt track towards the hamlet of Farinetti, then turn left again and follow the road with spectacular views all the way to Grinzane Cavour.
