Via del Mare Astigiano Trail
The Via del Mare Astigiano trail covers 62 kilometres, divided into 4 legs and 3 variants. From Isola d'Asti to Montegrosso, on low-traffic roads immersed in an area that is strongly characterized by water. In past geological eras there was the sea here, and even today water is a key element that is also reflected in the vegetation, in the morphology of the area and has resulted in some fossil outcrops over the years.
The trail often intersects with other route legs that are part of the regional hiking network. This allows you to visit villages and old towns which reflect the typical nature of the area and offer unprecedented views while also enjoying examples of Baroque art, like the castle of Costigliole d'Asti, as well as more ancient traces of Roman times, such as the historic roads of Montegrosso d'Asti.
