Via dei Briganti - Leg 2

Starting from Ferrere and crossing the SP19, take Via Collina San Secondo that leads us through wooded areas on the ridge from which you can dominate the surrounding landscapes. Following the entire ridge to the hamlet of Serra di Balla (255 m), crossing small and modest groups of houses.

Continuing along the ridge you will come across rare houses and a landscape still cultivated, especially in the fronts of the summit and wooded in the intermediate parts. This is how you cross the small hamlets of Novarino and Longaria. It is interesting to note, in all these hamlets, the presence of votive pillars on the road, mostly privately owned.

We then descend to the valley, along the SP10 which must be covered for 350 m and then climb up along the ridge, resuming the "path of San Nazario", where you meet the beautiful church of the same name, a rare testimony of peasant religiosity and a real meeting point of the locals. We continue until we meet the municipality of Bricco Grosso, which is covered entirely climbing up to an altitude of 248 m, and then descend to the Garavello region, and take the old road to Villafranca d’Asti, in a path still in the middle of the countryside open to views to Monviso, on the one hand, and to Triversa area, on the other.
