Belvedere Trail

This loop trail about 16 km long connects the centre of Cossano Belbo with San Donato di Mango, through the hamlets of San Pietro and Madonna della Rovere.

The ground surface switches between asphalt of low-traffic roads and dirt tracks and paths. Hazelnut and vine cultivations rotate with mixed forests with trees such as oaks and pines and shrubs typical of the drier slopes such as broom.

The highest part of the trail is the reason for its very name and offers unparalleled views of the Alta Langa, Monferrato and Langhe; here, on clear days, the Apennines can be admired as they join the Alpine arc as far as the opening onto the Po Valley.

The trail passes near the Sedia Tricolore (Tricolour Chair) in San Pietro and not far from the pretty country chapel and three votive pillars. On the Rovere side, the trail passes the Sedia dell'Amore (Chair of Love), the Big Family and the Sanctuary of the Madonna della Rovere. Descending to the valley, the trail crosses the Lungo Belbo path, leading back to the centre of the village.
