Bike - Asti

Riding among the hills to the North of Asti

Ring route starting from Asti, in search of the perfect panoramic viewpoint to admire the city from above.

The route is designed to combine a visit of the town of Asti, rich in art and culture, with its surroundings, merging the passion of “two wheels” with the opportunity to immerse yourself in history, among palaces, churches and Romanesque remains.

The route starts north of the city of Asti, in Via Monsignor Marello, and continues towards the Church of Santa Maria di Viatosto. The church is the 14th-century rebuilding of the Romanesque Santa Maria di Riparupta (11th century) and the interior preserves beautiful frescoes (13th-16th century). The churchyard is an excellent lookout point over the city and the hills. Worthy of note is the area itself, a place much loved and very popular within the residents of Asti.

Descend into the Rilate Valley, a beautiful area with meadows and pastures, small crops and ancient farmhouses until the main road for Chivasso. Proceed towards Sessant and continue along the Serra panoramic road until San Grato hamlet. Riding on the road of the Baciglio Valley you will admire the delightful even if not remarkable landscape with beautiful rural constructions, some crops, meadows and strips of woodland.

Following the trail, you will get to the residential area of Asti, along its outermost edge and back to the departure point.
