Astesana Trails on a Bike
An ancient area steeped in history, but also a Wine Route with over 200 member wineries promoting, all together, one of the Piedmont's most beautiful corners: Astesana.
Landscapes that are the result of a wine vocation that has been passed down from ancient times to the present day, and which has characterised the life and economy of the entire region. Knowledge, techniques, traditions and research are the ingredients that have shaped these hills into a geometric mosaic of vineyards, meadows, groves, small villages, valleys and streams.
A physical and cultural landscape created by the perfect balance between a generous nature and man’s labour, an environment so precious that in 2014 it became the 50th site in Italy to be inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Only if you walk or cycle on these hills, venture through the valleys and along the most beautiful ridges will you understand the reason behind this prestigious recognition: Hundreds, thousands of rows of vines which, when viewed as a whole, appear as an enormous pentagram where the cycle of life and the seasons will draw their notes, and those bunches will produce the great wines which depart from here to reach the tables all over the world.
Trekking and bike trails marked out by the Associazione Strada del Vino Astesana (Astesana Wine Road Association) so that everyone can enjoy this beauty and harmony: itineraries to be "tasted" calmly, savouring every nuance and fragrance, just as you would with the key product of these landscapes.
