The Walks of the High Shady Hills and Clear Hills – Leg 4

The point of departure of this stop is located in the inhabited area of Corsione. Go down Via Cesare Battisti, go past the village, and take the road (that leads to Frinco) called Strada Ville for about 2 km until you reach the intersection in Val Marchese area. Here, turn left and go towards Frinco. It is important to point out the presence of beautiful views and Valleversa farmlands along the way.

When you get to Frinco, pass through the historic centre taking Via Vittorio Emanuele II. From Piazza del Monumento, go straight ahead for about 400 metres until you reach an intersection.

At the intersection, turn right into Strada Provinciale 36, and go straight for about 100 metres. When you are at the intersection, leave Strada Provinciale for the dirt road that passes through the farmlands on the left.

The route continues for about 2 km until it intersects with Strada Provinciale 87. After 300 metres, go straight ahead and take the road named Asti-Chivasso. After 100 metres on this road, turn left, leave the paved road for the dirt road again, and pass through the big farmlands.

Go down the dirt road for 1,5 km until you come to a fork. You have to turn right there. After about 700 metres you come to a fork again. Turn left and pass through the farmlands until you reach Tonco. Going up the slope of Valle Versa you can see the profile of the big church dedicated to St Mary of the Assumption and to St Joseph. This majestic eighteenth-century work, designed by F. Caselli from Tonco, is characterized by its pointed steeple.
