The Sacred Hills Walk – Leg 4

The route starts from the Mamma Margherita square, in the centre of Capriglio.  Return eastwards towards the village up to the pylon placed in the middle of the street, then turn right.

Continue, going down hill until you cross a white road, on which you turn left and keep going. After about 600 m take a right turn and then, after less than 400m turn left. Now you can admire the medieval village of Bagnasco in the distance.

Continuing further, you begin to climb, until you reach the Romanesque church of San Giorgio of Bagnasco, worth a visit.

Go halfway up the hills, following the winding route, up to the village of Mongiglietto, below the village of Cortazzone.  After about 1 km you arrive at the splendid church of San Secondo of Cortazzone, a masterpiece of Romanesque Asti.

Leaving the church behind you, go down hill along the road and, after a short distance turn left and then, after about 800 m, turn again left and then once more turn left, in the direction of Cascina Brichetto.

After a little more than 400 m you pass the village of Santa Vittoria, in the administrative area of Viale, the centre of which is reached after another 400 m.
